2011 Philadelphia Flower Show

So a couple weeks ago, I went to the Flower Show to cover the event for The Feast.  This year's theme for the Show was "Springtime in Paris" (although if you live anywhere near Philly, I'm sure you already knew that).

The Eiffel Tower replica was pretty cool.

Some weird ostrich thing.  Y'know, cuz ostriches are native to Paris.

Lovely wedding tablescape.

Ok, let me get real here for a sec:  I consider myself a bit of a plant nerd, and I love flowers, but there are just always WAY too many people at the Flower Show for me to totally enjoy myself.

Case in point: this Chanel-inspired "hat box" display by Beautiful Blooms.  I needed a nice shot of it for The Feast, but couldn't get one because every geriatric in the joint made it their resting spot.  Seriously, just look at this picture.  People were eating ice cream cones all over it, dripping stuff everywhere.  It was gross.

Oh, I guess I should prob mention that my husband took all of these pictures, hehe.

Here's one of the Philadelphia University student's dress designs. Pretty cool.

Okay, so I became thoroughly obsessed with the hanging globes/air plant thing here.  I didn't want to spend $5032539 at the Flower Show so when I got home, I jumped online and found everything WAY cheaper. The globes are the exact ones I found at CB2, retailing for $29.65 for a set of 12.  I also bought a bunch of air plants from Airplants4U.com.  Oh, FYI: West Elm has the hanging globe things, too, but they're on back-order and way more expensive. But I digress...
Loved this mounted staghorn fern. I always end up killing ferns, though.

Creepy little glass figurines.

Garlic/ginger grater salesman dude.

Jordan was having soooo much fun.

Oh, I also was there to cover some Girl's Night Out event.

There were a couple cool vendors there.

Girl's Night Out swag bags.

All in all, it was a very productive, wholesome day, and I was able to get through it without murdering anyone.
